»VEMOTION® is a useful addition to the rehabilitation team for the mobilization of post COVID-19 patients. By adjusting the training parameters, an ideal load seems to be found for the patient and a positive influence on the ventilation of the lungs, the cardiovascular, the digestive and the senso-motor system is achieved. For the patients in their isolation, this means not only a sensible rehabilitative and certainly also preventive treatment. It is also a very welcome change, which has a clearly positive effect on the patients´ mental health. This is usually very battered anyway and has a positive effect on the entire team treating the patient.«

Carsten is in his mid 50’s working as an Airportsecurity-employee in Berlin. A mosquitobite, that develops into a deep wound marks the beginning of his symptoms. He gets treated and released, starts suffering from walking and neck pain soon after. He gets admitted to the hospitol again and is put into a coma after an incident while eating. After his diagnosis Guillain-Barré-Syndrome he starts mobilisation with VEMOTION ® while still being fully ventilated. After receiving Therapy almost daily he is able to move parts of his body again.

Gerd, 70 years, pensioner from Genthin near Magdeburg. He suffered a spinal hemorrhage that led to spinal shock, necessitating an induced coma. After being stabilized in the acute care hospital, he was transferred to the neurological clinic in Beelitz. There, mobilization with the VEMOTION ® system began. Despite being on a ventilator, Gerd made remarkable progress and was able to be mobilized to the edge of the bed within just a few days.

A 53-year-old primarily healthy man, who developed severe COVID-19 pneumonia, had to be connected to an external lung (ECMO) and developed ICU Acquired Weakness. Due to extensive muscle loss, he couldn’t move independently anymore, but with the support of the VEMOTION ® system mobilization therapy could be applied with little effort and the condition of the patient significantly improved. After only a short period of time his lung function stabilized and he could be weaned off.

M, a young woman from near Gardone Rivieria in Italy, is currently being mobilised with our VEMOTION® system at the Burgau Therapy Centre following brain surgery. After the operation, Marta had neurological deficits due to swelling and complications. She had to learn to move, eat, swallow and even breathe again. She is still undergoing rehabilitation, but familiar functions are slowly returning..

Hilbo (mid-40s) is a patient in the intensive care unit at the Schön Klinik Bad Aibling. Originally from Oldenburg, he now lives in Munich. Since mid-August, after two weeks in an artificial coma, he is undergoing treatment in intensive care at the Schön Klinik Bad Aibling Harthausen. Shortly after his arrival there, he was mobilized with our VEMOTION ® system.

»VEMOTION® is a varied addition to circulation training and verticalisation in therapy for our patients in the Paraplegic Centre. The movement sequence of the legs, which is based on a gait cycle, activates the sensorimotor function of the muscles that are still reinnervated. In addition, mobilisation with VEMOTION® has a significant influence on the ventilation of the lungs and increases the vigilance of our patients. Especially at the beginning after a severe spinal cord injury, we experience a very positive effect on the patients’ psyche with VEMOTION®.«
